What is an MOT test?

The law requires that everyone who uses a vehicle on the road must keep it in a roadworthy condition at all times. Once a year, roadworthiness is checked in the interests of road safety and the environment by the test we know as the “MOT”. The MOT looks at some important items on your motorbike to see that they meet the key legal minimum requirements at the time of test. You should be aware that the MOT certificate is not a guarantee of the general mechanical condition of a vehicle.

How long does it take?

It depends – when we conduct an MOT-test it is to test the roadworthy state of your vehicle and keep you [and our reputation] safe. Often we can conduct the MOT test while you wait, or alternatively simply drop off your bike go to work or grab a coffee and it’ll be done. If there’s work to complete however, it’ll take longer – but we try our best to get you back on the road as soon as we can.

When is my MOT Test due?

Annually – if your vehicle is over 3 years old. Need to know then check this site out & put in your details and it’ll tell you when your next MOT-test is due.
